Melissa and Korey, both Quad Cities natives, first met when they were living in the Chicago suburbs. Not long after meeting at a bar during a Blackhawks game, they knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. Korey surprised Melissa with an on-stage engagement in front of their family and friends when they came back to Moline to see her cousin’s band. Soon, they were moving back “home” and planning their elegant September Quad Cities wedding!
Melissa found her beautiful Stella York wedding dress and her sequin Sorella Vita bridesmaid dresses at Hope’s in the Village. “Everyone was super nice and helpful,” she says of her experience.
She advises other brides in the wedding planning process: “Don’t let the little things stress you out. Have fun with the planning. After all, it should be about fun and happiness!”
When Melissa thinks back to her wedding day, nothing stands out as a favorite memory because everything was just so perfect! She wishes she could have slowed down time to take everything in. One thing that made the day unique was her cousin singing for her father/daughter dance.
About a week and a half after the we dding, the newlyweds headed to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, for their honeymoon. They stayed at the Breathless Resort, which is an all-inclusive, adults only resort. “It was a perfect get-away. We did one excursion which included us going down to the Caribbean side of the island, taking a Catamaran boat out to Sanoa Island where we had lunch provided on a private beach. It was beautiful!”
Melissa and Korey, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful wedding with us! It was a pleasure to help you with your gown and bridesmaid dresses. We wish you a lifetime of happiness together!
