Hope’s bride Megan and Brittany met through Tinder, and after exchanging messages, a Google search and some Snapchats, they met for their first date at a Mexican restaurant. They were engaged a year later and married a year after that in a beautiful and touching barn wedding this past June!
They began wedding planning, and Megan visited Hope’s in her search for a dress. “Hope’s had several plus size options in store to try on, which was necessary but you can’t get that everywhere. Everyone was incredibly supportive and I could tell they wanted me to feel my most beautiful yet I felt like they were being honest.” Megan was able to customize her beautiful gown by adding a belt and border lace to the bottom and even found her bridesmaids dresses. “It was also very convenient to go through their alterations woman and I will likely take my dress back to be preserved,” she says.
Megan advises others planning a wedding: “Do as many little things as you can early – check things off your list as they come up and you won’t be stressed as the day grows closer.” She made all the center pieces for their reception. “It was fun to put personal touches on all our decorations.”
Some of Megan’s favorite memories from their wedding include setting up the barn the day before with her family, reading notes people had written to her the morning of the wedding, and peeking out to see everyone arrive before her dad walked her down the aisle. “Seeing so many people we cared about loving and support us was overwhelming and so special,” Megan remembers.
The newlyweds also share a special memory from the middle of the dance party. “We took a break to sit down and eat some cake together – it was a simply a great time and describes our relationship perfectly.”
Megan and Brittany are planning a honeymoon for next summer. Megan says married life is wonderful. “The first big thing that happened after the wedding was our basement flooding and needing a full renovation. It was an incredibly stressful situation and we laughed together through the whole thing. We play to our strengths as we go through the process and it has been neat to see how we support each other as teammates and can enjoy each other’s company despite what we are doing.”
Congrats to you both on finding each other and the relationship you’ve built! Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day. We wish you a lifetime of happiness!
