When Bill first met Lisa and asked if she liked to dance, she said no. He rephrased the question, asking her if she wanted to dance with him, and she of course said yes. They shared their first dance the night they met in downtown Cedar Rapids, and just a couple of years later, they were sharing their first wedding dance there!
“Thankfully, it was a song we could slow dance to!” Lisa remembers of the night they met. After a first date out to dinner and enjoying a fire and good conversation, Lisa and Bill continued dating. A little over a year later, Bill got down on one knee in the middle of Green Square Park. Lisa says, “Bill has the kindest heart and is such a gentleman. He makes me laugh and smile every day. God had a plan for us and I’m so glad I get to spend the rest of my life with Bill.”
Lisa knew she wanted to shop with Hope’s for her big day before she even met Bill because she had worked at Hope’s through college and a little after. “I know the heart and effort that goes into each bride’s experience and big day. Hope’s loves what they do and it shows. They made sure everything was as perfect as it could be for my wedding and everyone was so helpful. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.”
She found her Stella York gown, belt and shoes at Hope’s,and her bridesmaids and tuxes were all through Hope’s as well!
As they were looking at other wedding vendors, they found that many were booking up a year or more before their wedding. Lisa’s advice is to start planning as early as possible. She also says, “It can get stressful, but you can only control so much and everything will work out in the end. Try to enjoy everything and take it all in!”
The Big Day
One of Lisa’s favorite memories from her wedding day was their first look before the ceremony and the look on Bill’s face when he turned around to see her. “The whole day really was my favorite though,” she says.
After the wedding, the newlyweds took a trip to Florida. They spent a few days at Disney World and enjoyed stops in Springfield, IL, Nashville, and Seneca, SC on their road trip.
“Married life is great! Some advice for newlyweds would be to just always have open communication and always make quality time for each other,” Lisa shares.
Lisa and Bill, we truly appreciate your business and are so happy for you. Thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us, and blessings on your life together!
