Brook and Denver celebrated their love in a big country wedding with a little bit of bling and shine this past August. We had such fun helping Brook, her bridesmaids, usherettes/attendants, flower girls, and mom with all their dresses!
The newlyweds first met at a bar, and Denver was dating someone else at the time. When they broke up, he persistently pursued Brook, and she finally agreed to go on a day date with him in Anamosa. Four years later, they casually got engaged on the way to a gender reveal party. Brook remembers, “I was looking for a koozie, and I ended up finding the ring inside the truck. I looked up and asked him, ‘So what does this mean?’ He says, ‘Well are you going to marry me or what?’ Of course I said, ‘YES.’”
While planning the wedding, Brook found all she needed at Hope’s to outfit the women in her wedding.
I loved everything about Hope’s Bridal; they were great from beginning to end. My assistant helping me pick out my dress was amazing and made me feel so comfortable. She didn’t push me into anything I didn’t like. She gave me her honest opinion. During my bridesmaid shopping they were so helpful as well with color and sizing my girls. If I did have a problem, they were quick to help me. My alterations were great and my dress fit me perfectly on my wedding day. My whole wedding party looked gorgeous in their dresses. I can’t say anything negative about my experience!
For brides who are coming up on their wedding, Brook advises to not get upset about little things on the big day. “The day is about you and your husband. Enjoy it because it goes so fast!” When she looks back, Brook’s favorite memories from her wedding are marrying her best friend, her amazing wedding party, and “the most gorgeous dress!”
Brook added some special mementos to her bouquet honoring her grandparents who have passed away. For fun, she showed her love of Harry Potter with some fun quotes on her shoes and they had a glowstick bar in addition a huge dessert bar!
After the wedding, Brook and Denver traveled to California for their honeymoon. They learned the history of Alcatraz, went swimming with the dolphins in Sacramento, whale watching in Monterey, wine tasting in Napa Valley, and had family time in Santa Barbara and Ventura. A week later, they flew back to Des Moines to attend the Iowa State Fair for three days. “We have been going to the state fair every year since we have been dating so this was the 6th year we have gone. We enjoyed the animal attractions, amazing food, and cold beer.”
Brook’s advice for other newlyweds is to always put your spouse first and take time to talk with no distractions. “And always kiss each other goodnight or goodbye.”
Brook ended with some of the best feedback we can receive from our clients. “Thank you for helping us with the best day of our lives. So many compliments on all the dresses we received from you. You guys truly made it the best experience ever! Thank you!”
Thank YOU, Brook, for trusting us with your business and letting us be a part of your special day. We truly loved helping you and getting to know your friends and family! We wish you and Denver a lifetime of happiness!
