We are waiting with HOPE this Advent Season!
“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.” Romans 15: 4
Advent is a time of waiting. You brides out there know a lot about waiting, right? If you are like me, you were waiting for that ring, and now you are waiting for that wedding. In the moment, it feels like it will never get here because of all the excitement, planning and often stress, but once it’s here it will seem like the time flew by! For those who have already said “I do,” perhaps now it’s the waiting for the right job, the waiting for that anticipated baby, the waiting for news you’re not sure you want to hear. We all play the waiting game.
Waiting is all about hope, right? Right now, we have the opportunity to reflect on the waiting those in the Old Testament wrote about. And we have the opportunity to reflect on our own waiting for Christ to come again. We wait with hope.
As we come out of our turkey sedation from Thanksgiving and look ahead at the month before us, let us not get wrapped up in all we have to do. Let us get wrapped up in God’s fulfilled promises and the promises we trust He will keep. Let’s be filled with hope for a forever with the one true king as we anticipate the birth of that king in a lowly manger.
Blessings on your Advent season. If you are hoping to find your dress this month, we would love to see you at Hope’s. We will offer gifts from our “Tree of Hope” Christmas tree to any brides who buy their gowns between now and Christmas!
