Shannon and Preston offer us a real weddings feature full of fun details with an eclectic vintage feel. The two met freshmen year of high school and started dating junior year. “Preston is extremely hard-working and has always been planning for the future. He proposed on a random October day in 2013. I was in shock for a good week I think. Then the planning started!”
As she started planning for their September 19th wedding, Shannon knew she would be coming to Hope’s. She had purchased her prom dresses from us and remembered coming to Hope’s even as a flower girl! “I had dreamt about getting my dress at Hope’s since I was a little girl. I remember getting many of my flower girl dresses at Hope’s. I would always sit on the floor and pick up all of the loose sequins and glitter. I knew it was going to be our first and last stop that day. Diane and Ariel were an amazing help, and in the end helped me order the perfect dress for me.”
Shannon and Preston planned an outdoor wedding at Bella Sala in Iowa City. “I wanted my decor to be vintage but very eclectic. I love muted colors like mustard and blush but needed to show my bright side with a little teal. The color combo turned out perfect.” To fit the theme, Shannon found a sweetheart neckline embossed a-line bridal gown by Lis Simon, an exclusive designer at Hope’s. Her bridesmaids all chose similar but complementing chiffon styles from Bill Levkoff. Even the mothers found gorgeous dresses for the big day!
Shannon advises brides, “Have a plan and be decisive. But be prepared to change your mind a few times. The only thing that matters in the end is that you are marrying the person you love, and you’re surrounded by close friends and family.”
Shannon will always remember seeing Preston for the first time on their wedding day. “We did a first look picture, and I had butterflies the entire walk down the aisle. It was an amazing feeling.”
Following the wedding, the newlyweds honeymooned at the Excellence Resort in Playa Mujeres. They plan on going back very soon to enjoy the relaxation and fun they experienced!
“Married life is going amazing. I fall in love with my husband more and more every day. It’s been a fun ride and we plan to keep it that way,” Shannon said.
We are so thankful we could be a part of this fun-loving couple’s wedding, and it’s great seeing their beautiful pictures!
Shannon said what we want all our Hope’s brides to experience! “We thank Hope’s so much for your genuine love for the wedding dress business. My dress made my wedding day perfect. I felt gorgeous.”
