Jessica and Tyson’s real wedding tied together two aesthetics- Vintage and Modern- to create a truly cool, unique vibe!
The couple met in 2008 when they were working for the same company. Jessica asked him out on their first date to Riverside Casino, and they were pretty much inseparable after that night. They added a daughter, Lyric, to their lives in 2011, and he proposed in 2012. “He is a great guy; he is my partner in crime! He is an amazing father to our daughter, and my best friend,” Jessica said.
They tied the knot April 26, 2014 at First Lutheran Church in Marion, with a reception at Kirkwood Hotel. Jessica wore Audrina by Maggie Sottero and her bridesmaids wore Andrew Adela two-tone dresses with a peplum. Styling touches from the ladies’ victory rolled and pin-curled hair to the tails tuxedos brought in a vintage feel.
About her Hope’s experience, Jessica explained, “The staff is so caring and really go out of their way to help the bride find her perfect dress. They have an amazing selection of both bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses. I fell in love with my dress the second I saw it. However, the sample size didn’t quite fit! They did everything they could to help me out and make sure I could see what the dress would look like on me. I don’t know any other company who would go to such great lengths to make sure a bride was 100% happy!”
One of the perfect moments from her wedding that she will always cherish is Lyric (in a white flower girl dress and purple Converse tennis shoes) walking down the aisle with a sign reading, “Daddy, here comes Mommy.”
Other highlights from the big day include the reception, flowers and groom’s cake. Jessica was very impressed with the entire experience with Hotel Kirkwood, from the wedding planner’s attention to detail to the amazing food her guests raved about. The bouquets were all personalized with silk flowers and broaches with the help of Jessica’s cousin. And Tyson was surprised by the John Deere groom’s cake Jessica presented.
Since the wedding, Jessica and Tyson have honeymooned in Jamaica and learned how rewarding marriage is. “It’s an amazing feeling when you found your other half! I would say communication and compromise would be key. Also, try and not stress over the small stuff, then it makes the big stuff not seem so overwhelming. If something is bothering you, speak up! You don’t want the tiniest problem turning into a big problem because you didn’t tell the other person how you were feeling!”
