Our Real Weddings feature today showcases Hope’s bride Bree and her new hubby, Luke. Both of our stores had the privilege of working with this lovely couple, outfitting the bride and the handsome men!
Luke and Bree met in high school. Although he was older, they had mutual friends and dated on and off through high school and college. Eventually they agreed they didn’t want to see anyone else, and a proposal followed a little later.
Bree remembered: “I came home from work one day and thought Luke had taken our dog out for a walk, but when I noticed her leash hanging up I was really confused. I walked into our bedroom and he had candles lit everywhere, a huge bouquet of flowers on the dresser, the dog sitting on the bed, and he was down on one knee. After I said yes and finally stopped crying, he pulled champagne out of the fridge and cooked me a delicious steak dinner… he knows the way to my heart!”
The couple married in September in Clinton, Iowa. Bree wore a Martina Liana, one of our exclusive designer dresses, Meg Jewelry and a Symphony veil. Her mom chose a classy Merrily mother’s dress, and the men were outfitted in grey Milroy’s tuxedos. It worked out that some of the wedding party visited the Atkins store, and others went to our Davenport location for their convenience!
Bree flattered us by saying, “They have the best customer service ever, and they really know how to do their job! They are some of the best people I’ve ever gotten to work with.” (Blush!)
Her favorite memories from her wedding include being with the people she loves most and the first time Luke saw her. And a special touch was having her grandfather, their pastor, marry them!
Here’s Bree’s (we think PERFECT) advice for those of you planning a wedding: “Ladies, get your wedding dress at Hope’s!” Like so many of our expert brides, she also recommends getting the big stuff out of the way first, so you can concentrate on the little details that make everything perfect.
“Take a moment on your wedding day to take everything in. Look around at everything and everyone there and remember how you’re feeling in that moment because it’s one you will never forget,” Bree stressed.
Now, the newlyweds say married life is great! “I think we love each other even more than we did before,” Bree said. They are saving up and looking forward to a tropical one year anniversary trip, which sounds pretty amazing in this winter weather!
Thank you so much, Bree and Luke, for giving us the honor of working with you for your wedding and sharing your big day with us here! Many blessings on a long and happy life together!
