Jessica and Jordan said “I do” September 19th in a classic, yet elegantly romantic Real Wedding. The beautiful Hope’s bride impressed us all with her organization, vision, and relaxed, happy planning style. “Planning my wedding was not nearly as stressful as many said it would be. I absolutely loved every minute of wedding planning. I wish the day didn’t go so fast, but I couldn’t have had such a beautiful day without all of our helpful vendors, so thank you!”
Jessica met Jordan through mutual friends. About a year and half into their relationship, Jordan invited her on a walk down to the river with some friends and their puppy. She had a feeling something was going on because he had been acting “odd” all week. He took her out on the dock for a picture, and before she knew it, he was down on one knee.
The planning began! Jessica advises brides to keep a wedding binder. “Mine was my saving grace. All things wedding related: receipts, Pinterest ideas, pictures, budget, etc. all went in there. I also kept Excel sheets with my addresses for guests. I would just copy them and revise when needed for showers, invites, thank you’s.”
She visited the Davenport Hope’s in late October, where she found her lace Essense of Australia bridal gown, veil, accent belt, and Bill Levkoff bridesmaids. “They made me feel special. I love telling other brides to go to Hope’s because I can honestly say one of the best parts of wedding prep was finding my wedding dress. It was such a memorable day and I felt so important.”
Jessica will always remember walking down the aisle to her groom on the big day. “I completely lost it and was a crying mess, but knowing I was about to marry the man of my dreams made me so emotional.” It also struck her to see the 400+ people who had come to support their love!
Their wedding offered many fun elements for their guests. They had a photo booth, candy buffet, and her company ice cream truck from Vibrant Credit Union. Plus, the skills of an amazing DJ kept the party going!
Beyond the party, there were special touches that meant a lot to Jessica. She had a memorial table for their loved ones celebrating in heaven and a table cloth that covered their unity sand ceremony table that her great-grandmother made prior to passing away. Her grandpa walked her down the aisle which meant so much to her because he helped raise her.
The day after their wedding, Jessica and Jordan headed for a week to Negril, Jamaica at Couples Swept Away. “We went parasailing, got a couples massage, swam through caves, went zip lining, went on a safari tour with crocodiles, snorkeled, swam in YS Waterfall and swam with dolphins! It was the most amazing first week of marriage.”
The couple have continued to enjoy married life since returning. “My advice is to soak in the time you have with your spouse. The days leading up to and after the wedding go by so fast. Just always remember why you love your husband or wife in the first place and why you chose to spend your lives together. My husband keeps me laughing day in and day out. He is kind and knows how to comfort me at just the right times.”
Thank you so much, Jessica, for being a Hope’s bride and sharing your special day with us! Many congrats to you and Jordan!
