Prom 2015 Style Preview
Wondering what’s going to be hot for Prom 2015 styles? We are just starting to get our dresses in, with most coming later this month and in December. It’s early, but we’re getting excited! Diane, Moriah, and I went to prom market in Atlanta back in August, buying HUNDREDS of dresses for Hope’s. Here’s a sneak peek of what is big this year!
LACE! Lace is everywhere. From slinky styles to big ball gowns, you will see all different kinds of lace. It offers a vintage feel, but in fun colors and new styles, it feels fresh. Some of our favorite lace we saw was from Jovani, La Femme, and Rachel Allan.
SLEEVES! From a dainty cap to full coverage long, sleeves are in! It’s a big shift from the 15 year trend of strapless dresses. While you don’t have to do sleeves, there are some gorgeous looks out that are both classy and comfortable. Most sleeves are a light-weight lace or sheer with sparkles, so you won’t get too hot dancing. Tony Bowls and Jovani offered our favs.
BACKS! It’s all about that back when it comes to Prom 2015. You will see backs dipping low, low, low, straps, cutouts, and sheer fabrics or lace, all offering interest as you walk away.
TWO-PIECE! The crop top’s back. Look for cute lace tops with full or mermaid skirts for a great silhouette. You can even repurpose your top or skirt for other occasions! We loved the two-piece styles from Rachel Allan and Sherri Hill!
For prom, it’s all about being unique. There’s a little bit of everything for every girl. We love the amazing princess ballgowns coming from designers like Mori Lee’s Paparazzi, fully sequined looks from Faviana and Precious Formals, flowing chiffons from Mac Duggal and Blush, and awesome mermaid silhouettes from Sherri Hill. Tony Bowls has the wow factor for a sophisticated girl- he designed for ALL Miss America contestants! Rachel Allen is a favorite of Carrie Underwood, with sweet but stylish easy-to-wear looks. Jovani is always a show-stopper, and we’re so excited to have over 100 Jovani dresses in our store for a trunk show January 16-26 in Atkins and January 30-February 9. We are also looking forward to having over 50 of the unique fashion-forward styles of Alyce Designs in our stores for a trunk show in Atkins January 3-5 and in Davenport January 9-11.
On top of all the hot dresses you will see online and in the magazines, Hope’s also has a huge selection of designer prom dresses that are exclusive to Hope’s in the state of Iowa! Since we won’t sell the same dress to someone at the same school, you are guaranteed to have a one-of-a-kind dress!
Want know who we carry? We have all the best designers in the prom industry! Here’s a list of designers. If we are missing anyone you want to see, please ask! It’s always possible I have forgotten one or we had reasons for not buying them this year.
Tony Bowls Le Gala, Paris, & Evenings
Vienna (New this year!)
Rachel Allan (formally Partytime)
Paparazzi by Mori Lee
Romance Couture (New this year!)
I know a lot of you loved Flirt by Maggie Sottero. It was actually one of our top lines for several years! However, they decided to no longer do prom dresses. (Sad, right?!?) If you see pictures of Flirt dresses, it’s possible we still have them in stock or can get them, so don’t hesitate to ask! They just are no longer making new dresses going forward.
Finally, if you want to see pictures of new dresses we have this year, follow our “Prom Dresses 2015” board on Pinterest! I’m doing my best to update it regularly with pictures from our designers’ websites. Of course, it won’t have ALL our dresses, but it will give you lots of ideas. Plus, you can pin dresses you want help finding when you visit us! We can’t wait to see you and help you find your perfect designer prom dress!
Faith, Hope & Love,
