Fall Bridal Market Recap

Fall Bridal Market Recap

This fall, we made our way to two bridal markets. Mark and Diane headed to Atlanta, and Diane, Ariel and Cathy attended the Chicago market.  We’d love to share some of the highlights with you today!
Trends: We saw a lot of illusion necklines, fun skirts, and color. We hardly saw ANY white in the showrooms, but we did see red, blue, champagne, blush, and silver colors! Lace is still very popular in the bridal, but we are seeing it used in lots of unique ways. Plus, LOTS of bling for those of you who like to sparkle!
You’ll LOVE: Essense of Australia and Stella York were Ariel’s favorites for brides-to-be. “They both had a feel for every bride,” she said. Cathy agreed with her and added Kitty Chen as a favorite for our clients because of her fun new styles.
What’s New: We are super-excited to bring in two new bridal lines from designer Rosa Clara. Both offer beautiful styles, unique fabrications, and many options for customization. Ariel explains, “You can buy accessories or jackets that match for not much of a charge. They also have sister dresses. This is AWESOME… for example, we bought one that is a high neck gown. They make the exact same dress in a v-neckline and as strapless. The sister dresses are not a significant difference in pricing either, which is fantastic for our brides!”
Additionally, we bought some mother’s dresses from La Femme and rounded out our prom buying with a new designer for us, Johnathan Kayne. He was on Project Runway and has such great designs!
Special Designers: We love that we can offer you designers you won’t see everywhere else. For example, no one else in the state of Iowa carries Robert Bullock. We have lots of exclusive styles at our stores for your big day, as well as the much-loved designers like Allure and Maggie Sottero. This range means we have something for everyone! Cathy, a first-time market attendee said, “It was great meeting Kitty, Roz, Martina, Robert and Lee –the actual designers behind most of our exclusive lines. We have lot of great dresses coming from these lines.”
Favorite Memories: Ariel: “My favorite memory would have to be taking Cathy to Ed Debevics. It is a restaurant that is themed. They are rude and not like the everyday waiters. It was a fun experience.” Cathy agreed that was a highlight. We were so sad to learn the restaurant is now closed and being torn down for a high rise! Cathy said, “I had a great time with Diane and Ariel —it was nice to get to know each other a little better out of the work place.” Overall, we had a great time in Chicago together, and Diane and Mark also found some amazing pieces in Atlanta, so we can definitely call it a successful market season!
We can’t wait to share some of our new styles with you over the next few months! Keep an eye on social media for sneak peeks, and I will have a Spring 2016 trends post for you coming in January most likely!
Faith, Hope & Love,
Johanna
