2015 Bridesmaid Style Guide
Time for a little bridesmaid fun! What wedding party styles will perfectly complement the bridal trends of 2015? (See those HERE if you missed them!) Here are our top six bridesmaid trends for 2015!
Lace has been so important in bridal for several years, but we’re just starting to see it more often in bridesmaids. If you are looking for a lace bridesmaid style, you will have lots of options now to find a complementing design for your gown! You will have the choice to have a full-lace dress or lace just on the bodice or skirt. Color is another choice. Some designers will offer lace just in basic colors such as white, ivory and black, which you can layer over a wide variety of satin fabrics. Others have found a wide variety of lace shades to go with nearly any color scheme! Lastly, you will find romantically layered lace. We love it when a beautiful lace peaks through soft tulle or chiffon overlays!
2. “Maid Your Way” or Mix-and-Match
It’s been a big trend for a while to allow each bridesmaid to choose her own style of dress. One awesome option you have to keep your look uniform but each bridesmaid happy is the “Maid Your Way” bridesmaid dress from Sorella Vita. The styling options with this basic design are countless! Check out the pictures to see examples of how this dress can be worn. If you want to have each attendant choose her own dress, we are happy to help you find complementing styles from the same designer to make sure colors and fabrics match or blend appropriately.
This trend is truly just starting to come our way. While most of the sequin/beaded dresses you see on Pinterest are prom or formal gowns, some of our designers are offering accents that give you the feel of glitz without the high price tag of a prom/formal gown. (We have plenty of those available, if that’s what you are after, though!) I really think our designers will be offering more glitzy options in the next few seasons. For now, you will see sequins or beading just on necklines, belts, etc.
4. “Water” Colors
For the past couple of years, blush and neutrals have ruled as far as colors go. Our biggest color shift will be toward “water” colors- shades in the blue family. From soft grays and sky blue, to aqua and navy, you will find these colors offering classy, flattering options for your wedding party.
5. High Necklines
Just like in bridal, we are seeing a shift away from strapless dresses. You will find lots of options with illusion necklines, pretty straps or halter styles. Most bridesmaids will appreciate this for comfort’s sake, since these dresses are usually an easier fit and let you dance all night without worrying about pulling up your dress!
Also following a current bridal trend, we are seeing styles you could categorize as bohemian. They often have ruffles or billowy silhouettes to give a romantic, earthy feel. These dresses would be perfect with flower halo headbands and an outdoor setting!
